The word 'Stephen' appears in the top margin. The date '25 Oct 1154' has been added in the left margin next to the words 'Henry 2'. There is a catchword at the bottom of the folio. The tale of how eventually an agreement is reached between Henry of Normandy and King Stephen to divide England between them, and how King Stephen regrets this and dies in sorrow. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial 'A' introduce the tale of King Henry, and how Thomas Beket of London became Archbishop of Canterbury. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

had so muche werre þat he nyste whider for to wende. but at þe laste þey were accordede þorugh þe Erchebisshopp Theobalde an thorugh oþere worthy lordes of Engelond. vppon þis condi cioun þat þey shulde dep(ar)te þe reaume of Engelond bituene ham so þat Henry þe Emp(er)esses sone shulde haue holleche half þe reaume: and whanne king Stephene were dede. he shulde ha ue al þe lande of Engelond: and þus þey were accorded and pees cryed þorugh out al Engelond // And whanne þe accorde was made bituene þo too lordes: king Stephene bicome so sory for cause þ(t) he had lost half Engelond. and fel in to suche a maladye and deyde in þe .xixe. ȝer viij. wokes and. v. dayes of his regne al in werre and in cuntak and he lith in þe .ab- bay of ffeu(er)esh(a)m þe which he lete make in þe .vje. ȝere of his regne Of king Henry þat was þe Emp(er)esses sone .in whos tyme sent Thom(a)s of Caunt(er)bery was chaunceler.
