Description:
The tale of how Earl Godewynne sends for Alvred to be crowned King. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' H ' (possibly inserted in error in place of a ' W ' in the word 'whanne') introduce the tale of how Godewynne slays Alvred's men and takes Alvred to Gyldesdoun to brutally slay him. There is a small hole in the vellum. The text ends imperfectly at the bottom of the folio at 'and after'. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.
