Description:
The text begins imperfectly in the rubrication at the top of the folio at 'to þe englisshmen'. An illuminated initial ' A ' introduces the tale of how the Earls decide that due to years of Danish villany, thereafter no Dane should be King of England. Alvred and Edward are sent for from Normandy in order to crown Alvred King, but Earl Godewynne of Wessex plots to kill Alvred and crown his own son King. There is a small hole in the vellum. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.
