The tale of how King Arthur follows Mordred into Cornwall and slays him. How Gunnore (Guinevere) retreats in shame to Kerlioun. A subsequent hand has corrected the word 'þat' on line 14. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

nevew slayn. and Anguissel þat helde Scotland. and many oþ(er)e wher of king Arthour was ful sory But after þat þe were comen to londe Mordred mighte nouȝt aȝens him endure. but anon was descomfited and fledde þennes þe same nyȝt with his men. and vppon þe morne come to Londou(~): but þo of þe citee wolden nouȝt soffren him comen Jn. and fram þen- nes he fledde to Wynchestr and þ(er)e he held him w(t) his pe- ple þat wiþ him comen // king Arthur lete take þe body of Gaweyn his cosyn and þe body of. anguissel. and lete ham be bore in to Scotland in to hire owene cuntre and þ(er)e þey were enterede // And aft(er) anon king Arthur nome his wey to destroye Mordred. and he fledde fro þennes in to Corne- waile // The Quene Gunmore that was king Arthures wif þat þo soiournede at ȝork and herde þa(t) Mordred was fled þennes and mighte nought endure aȝens king Artho(ur) she was sore adrad and hadde gret doute. and wiste nouȝt what was best for to done. for she wiste wel þat hire lord king Arthur wolde neu(er)e of hire haue m(er)cy for þe grete sha me that she to him had done and nome hire way p(ri)uely wiþ foure men wiþoute mo. and come to Kerlyoun(~) and þ(er)e nome and þ(er)e she duellede al hire lif þat neu(er) was seyn among(es) folc hire lif durynge // Arthur wiste þ(t) Mordred was fled in to Cornewaile and lete sende aft(er) his men in to Scotland and Northumb(er)land. vnto Humber and lete assemble folc wiþoute noumbr and come(~) fro þennes in to Cornewayle to seche and pursue after Mordred and Mordred had assembled to him al þe folc of Cornewaile. and hadde peple wiþouten noumbr and wiste þat Arth(ur). was comyng and had leuere to dye and take his chaunce þan leng(er) fle and abode and ȝaf an harde bataile to king Arthur and to his peple so þat so muche peple was slayn what in þat on half and in þat oþ(er). þat no man wiste who had þe bettere partye // But so it bifel at þe laste þat Mordred was slayn. and al his folc and al þe good chiualrie þat
