at Tottenesse wiþ a gret ost . And þe britouns anon assembled ham and wente to vnd(er)fonge Aurilambros & Vter wiþ grete nobleye and lad ham to Londou(~) and crouned þ(er)e Aurilambros and made him king and deden to him homage and he axede where Vortiger þat was king mighte be founde for he wolde ben avenged of his broþ(er)es deth and after he wolde werre oppon paynymes and þey tolde him þat Vortiger was in Wa lis and so þey lad him þiderward // Vortig(er) wiste wel þat þo ij. breþ(er)en comen him to co(~)quere and fleigh þennes in to a cas- tel þat me calleth Generth þat stode oppon an hye mountaigne and þe(~) him helde // Aurilambros and Vter his broþ(er) and hir folc had biseged þe castel ful longe time for þe castel was strong and wel arraied so at þe laste þei caste wilde fire and brende hous & men and al hire arraye and as muche as was wiþinne þe castel so þat Vortiger was brende a- monge all oþ(er)e and so deide he w(t) muche sorwe // þo was Engist in Kent and regnede þ(er)e and herde þise tidinges and anon fledde and wolde haue went in to Scotland for to ha- ue had socour . but Aurilambros and his men mette w(t) hy(~) in þe North cuntree and ȝaf him bataile and Engist and his men ham defendede whiles þat þey mighte . but he and his folc were discomfited and slayn and Otta his sone fley vnto ȝork and Aurilambros him folwede egrely Otta a litel while aȝens him stode . but aftir ward he pulte him to his m(er)cy // And Aurilambros vnderfeng him and to him and to his men he ȝaf þe cuntree of Galewey in Scot lande and þ(er)e þey duellede // þe king Aurilambros wente þo þorugh þe lande and pult a way þe name of Engistes lande þat Engist aft(er) his owen name he callede bifore . þo lete he it calle aȝen grete britaigne and lete make aȝen chirches and houses of Religiou(~) Casteles . Citees . & Burghes and tounes þat þe Saxsones had destroied and comen to Londou(~) an lete make aȝene þe walles of þe citee whiche Engist and his folc had cast a doun(~)þe britoun(~)s lad hy(~)
