Description:
King Corinbatrus grants Spaniards refuge in Ireland. Red rubrication and illuminated initials 'A ' introduce the stories of Kings Guentholen, Seisal, Kymore and Morwith. Red rubrication introduces the tale of King Grandobodian, Morwith's son, at the bottom of the folio. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

þis herde he hadde piete of ham and ȝaf ham an jle al wil dernesse þere þat no man was duellynge sauf onliche wil de bestes : and þe Erl þankede muche þe king and bicome his man and dede him feaute and homage and nome al his folc and wente in to same jle and þe king me callede Jr- lamal and þ(er)fore he lete calle þe land Jrland after his owen name // þe king þo Cornbatrus come aȝene in to þis lande . and regnede : xxv . ȝer and after he deide and lith at Newe Troye How þe king Guentholen regnede in goodnesse and wel gou(er)ned þe lande al his lif tyme Caplo .xxvo. And whan Cornbat(u)s was dede : regned Guentolyn his sone a ma(~) of good condiciouns and wel biloued and he gou(er)nede þe land wel and wiseleche and he regnede .xxvj. ȝer and after deide and lith at newe Troye How king Seisel regnede and wel gouernede ve lande after Guentolen Caplo xxvjmo. And after þis Guentolrn regnede his sone Seisil wel and worþily and wel gouerned þe lande as his fader had done biforne him . and he regnede .xv ȝere and deide and lith at ne we Troye . How Kymor regnede after Seisel his fader and he [...] bigat Howan þat regned after Capo. xxvijo. And after [...] Seisel regnede his sone Kymor wel and nobliche .xix ȝere in pees and Howan his sone .x. ȝere and deide and lith at Her- baldoun(~) How king Morwith deide þorugh meschaunce þorugh [...] a beste . for his wickednesse . Capo xxviijo. After þis Howan [...] regned Morwith and he bicome wickede and so sterne til at þe laste gret veniaunce come to him . ffor as he wente oppon a tyme by þe see side he mette a gret beste þat was blak and horrible and hidous and he wende þat it had ben a whale of þe see . and bente an arweblast and wolde haue slayn þat beste with a quarel . but he mighte nought smyte it // And whanne he hadde shotte alle his quarell : þe beste anon come to him in grete haste and him deuourede a lyfe and so he deide for his wickednesse þorugh veniaunce of god after þat he had reg ned .ix. ȝere Of Grandobodian þat was Morwithus sone
