How King Belyn ruled Britain. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' B ' introduce the story of how Belyn and Brenne fought again and were reconciled by their mother Cornewenne. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

Belyn þo by counceil of his folc g(ra)unted him his axinge and so Gutlagh bicome his man and Belyn vnderfeng of hym his homag(e) by oth & by writing þe same couenauntȝ : & oppo(~)þese couenau(~)tȝ king Gutlagh nome Samye and his folc and wente þennes and torned aȝen to Denmarc eu(er)more after were þe couenau(~)tȝ holden and þe truage paiede til þe time þat Hauelok was king of Denmark and also of þis lande þorugh his wyf Gildeburgh þat he had spoused for she was þe right heire of þis lande // þis Belyn duelled þo in pees and woship fully him helde amonges his barouns and he made four real weyes . on fram þe est in to þe west : and þat was called Watlingestret . and anoþer fram North vn to þe South þat was callede Jkenilstrete and .ij. oþ(er) weyes he made in bossinge þorugh out þe lande þat on is called ffosse and þat other ffossedik & he mayntenede wel þe goode lawes þat Denband his fader had made and ordeyned in his tyme as bifore is saide . How acorde was made bituene Brenne and Belyn þorugh [...] Cornewenne hire mod(er) .Capo.xxiijo. Brenne þat was [...] Belynus broþ(er) had long tyme duelled in ff(ra)unce : and þere had conquered a gret lordshipp þorugh mariage for he was duk of Burgoyne þorugh þe doughter of þe duk ffewyn þat he hadde spousede þat was right heire of þe lande and þis brenne ordeynede a gret poer of his folc and also of ff(ra)unce and come in to þis lande for to fighte with Belyn his bro- þer and Belyn come aȝens him with a st(ro)ng poer of Britou(~)s . and þo wolde haue ȝeuen him bataile : but hire moder Corne- wenne þat þo leuede hadde hard þat þe o broþ(er) wolde destroye þat oþer and wente bituene hire sones and hem made acor- ded with muche peyne . so þat at þe laste þo .ij. breþeren with muchel blisse wente togidere in to [*new] Troye þat now is called Londou(~) and þere þey duelled al a ȝere and after þey nome hire cou(~)ceile for to gon and conquere al ff(ra)unce an so þey deden and brent tounes and destroiede þe lande boþe in lengþe and brede and þe king of f(ra)unce
