Description:
Pricke of Conscience: part six. English verse on the pains of hell. The sight of each others pain will be another source of suffering to those in hell. Clearly visible on the page is stitching where a hole or tear in the vellum has been repaired. The written space is 190 x 87 mm, 33 long lines and the hand is anglicana formata.

The authorship is very often ascribed to Richard Rolle of Hampole, a prolific 14th-century hermit and mystic, but modern scholarship has cast doubt over this assertion and has instead ascribed the work to a different and anonymous writer.
