Description:
Pricke of Conscience: part three. The text begins imperfectly here at the top of the page after a gap in the text. At least one page has been removed from the codex, the remains of which is just visible in the gutter (inner margin). English verse on how many souls go to purgatory after death, with only very few going straight to heaven. A section of Latin text begins with a blue initial 'I'. The written space is 190 x 87 mm, 33 long lines and the hand is anglicana formata.

The authorship is very often ascribed to Richard Rolle of Hampole, a prolific 14th-century hermit and mystic, but modern scholarship has cast doubt over this assertion and has instead ascribed the work to a different and anonymous writer.
