Description:
Medical recipes. There is a parallel in Gilbertus Anglicus (ed. Faye Getz) through to f 11r. Line 17 'comyþe' the scribe wrote one minim too few, n instead of m. Instead of cancelling it, he just inserted another stroke above, like an. Line 25 scribal error erased. The written space is c. 163 x 115 mm and the script is mainly secretary.

1. that ys to say wedir þey ben hoot / or coolde drey or 2. moyste And þis knowen by many dyu(er)se tokyns / 3. And w(t) goddis grace we wyll write of sum sekenesses of 4. þ(e) body and of her tokyns And of her cures And first we will 5. be gynne at þ(e) sekenesses of þ(e) hede ffirst of þ(e) hede ache þ(t) may 6. come to a man þo(ur) hete or colde drynesse of moystnesse And ȝif 7. it comyth of hete þes be þ(e) tokyns hete reednesse in þ(e) forhede 8. and (^a)boute þ(e) eyen and oþ(er) whiles an hote rewme rede vryne And a 9. swifte po[u]se and a lityll slepe smoke and hote eyr noyth hym And hoot 10. plastres and oþ(er) hoot þinges is noy(^u)s And he is comfortyd w(t) oþ(er) colde 11. þinges And v[nn]eth he may suffre brigenes or lyght And if it 12. come of colde he shal fele colde in his hede And his face woll be 13. pale And his pous flowȝ And his bryne febly colowrid And he 14. shal slepe meche And colde þinges noyeth hym And if it comythe 15. of moystnesse þer ben many sup(er)f[l]uitees And mechel slepe Jdilship 16. of mannys witt And of clene moystnesse And þer comyth no grete 17. sight And it con(^i)yþ(e) of dreynesse the flyme wexith drye And þ(er) ben 18. ffewe sup(er)fluetes And lityll slepe And moste þing(es) doþe hym good 19.
