Medical recipes. Note that some of the chapter numbers in the right margin are preceded by punctus, which is at times difficult to differentiate from the punctuation in the main body of text. Between lines 13-14 in the right margin: 'jn man[ys] [bode]' is written. Line 16 second e in 'seede' is crossed out. In the bottom margin in a different hand: 'Remede for hed hache' is written. The written space is c. 163 x 115 mm and the script is mainly secretary.

Take heyhone and make þ(er) of poudir And so som ou(er) his mouthe 3. w(t) a penne ffor the palnesey Vse barly brede and none othir 4. & ete poudir þ(t) is made of mustarde seed & sage and eu(er)y day vse 5. it fastyng Also take a yonge chekyn and dight hym & tak out 6. his bowellis & put mode wax jn And rost hym and (^y)eve it þe seke 7. to hete ffor to make a man laxatiff Take borage And m(er)curye 8. and ij leuys or iij of laurol and make hem in a potage & yeve 9. þe seke to ete ffor the yelou euyl Take þe rote of þe rede nettyll 10. & take out þe jus & take the jus of Salydoyne and drinke w(t) stale 11. ale A good poudir for all man(er) of sekenesse in manys 12. body and it shal distroye all manar of poysou(~) venym 13. and dropsye and þe yelowe euyll and for wa[lm]yng 14. a boute manys hert Take the seed of smalache .
